Ben Shelton is undoubtedly one of the biggest rising stars on the ATP circuit. The 20-year-old American is currently ranked 47th on the ATP rankings.
This year he impressed, for example, at the Australian Open, where he reached the quarterfinals. Shelton has defeated Zhang, Jarry, Popyrin and also compatriot Wolf. He fell short to Tommy Paul.
At the U.S. Open, he beat Cachino in the first round. Although he lost the opening set 1:6, he took the match into his own hands and did not offer his opponent a single break point opportunity.
In the second round a very interesting battle with Dominic Thiem was expected. The first set also offered it, the home tennis player won only in the tiebreak. After that, however, the Austrian had to abandon the match for health reasons.
Aslan Karatsev is a twenty-nine-year-old tennis player from Russia. He is ranked 77th in the ATP rankings, but in the past he was also ranked 14th. This year he is still waiting for his first title.
At the final Grand Slam tournament of the current season, he took on Jiri Lehecka. The Russian tennis player showed a dominant performance, only once losing his own serve. In the second round, he took the scalp of Carballes Baena.
He spent almost three and a half hours on court on Wednesday, while Shelton spent only one. Physical fitness can also play a big role in the first matchup. I’m expecting a triumph for the American, who can rely on a great serve.
Betting tip l Shelton will win at odds of 1.67
