The best MMA organization on the planet? Most people will undoubtedly bring up the UFC first, however, rival Bellator believes it’s not far behind the more famous brand. Bellator boss Scott Coker even revealed after the last tournament that he believes he has the best fighters in the world in the organization.
This kind of excellence hasn’t been seen in a long time. Which organization is the best in the world? The vast majority of MMA fans will answer without much doubt three letters – the UFC. However, Bellator, which is seen as the eternal number two, would like to fight for that position.
After all, Bellator has great fighters, does tournaments in different parts of the world and has a lot to offer. We could see it during the last gala, which took place in Dublin, Ireland.
The Irish capital was treated to a spectacular show. Among the greatest moments were the entrance of Peter Queally, whose successor Zombie by The Cranberries made the whole hall sing again, and the victory of the Ukrainian champion Yaroslav Amosov.
Amosov is now 27-0, is the sovereign Welterweight King of Bellator, and after his win, declared himself the best Welterweight fighter in the entire world. And his words were echoed by Bellator boss Scott Coker.
“If you look at our welterweight division, we have the best fighter in the world. When you look at the welterweight or middleweight division, again, we have the best fighters in the world. Our champions could fight anybody. Even the rulers of our lighter weight classes,” BJPenn.com quoted Coker as saying.
“I must say that after five or six years of building up, I feel really great. Our fighters are exceptional athletes. When I came here, that wasn’t the case. Bellator wasn’t what it is today. Itwas a small organization with a small show, we’ve come a long way and we’re moving in a good direction,” he added.
Meanwhile, Bellator recently held a tournament where the champions of the American brand measured their strength against the champions of the Asian organization ONE FC. Polish KSW was the next to try to measure their strength, will they live to see it?
