The football world is being rocked by Messi’s move to overseas MLS

The football world is being rocked by the transfer of a living football legend to Major League Soccer. But the boss of overseas club Inter Miami has his eye on other star players.

Lionel Messi shocked the football community yesterday with the announcement of his departure from European football, where he has played virtually his entire football career. He eventually signed a contract with Inter Miami, which is headed by former soccer star David Beckham.

Messi thus turned down a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia and a return to Barcelona. The reason he gave was that he did not want to get his beloved club from sunny Catalonia back into financial trouble and preferred to leave the limelight.

He opted for a quiet life on the shores of the Florida beaches, however, football-wise the club is limping along. But Beckham wants to change that from next season and bring in star reinforcements to not only increase interest in the club but also help the inexperienced team football-wise.

But club owner David Beckham wants to bring Messi more star teammates

In fact, well-known Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano took to his Twitter account to reveal that the club is targeting the signing of another star player from Barcelona. This is Sergio Busquets, with whom Messi kicked for the Catalan big club for thirteen seasons.

the 34-year-old midfielder announced after the end of the season that he was quitting his time at the club of his heart and would cut a new deal before retiring from football. There had long been speculation about his departure to Saudi Arabia, however, it now looks like Messi’s transfer to MLS clears the situation.

Romano then went on to mention in his post that the club is also considering the arrival of another star Argentine. The Florida direction could be taken by Ángel di María, with whom he won a gold medal at the World Cup in Qatar in December.

Di María was with Juventus of Turin this season, where he joined from PSG a season ago. However, the Italian club did not extend his one-year contract and the Argentine became a free agent. Will Messi thus see a significant strengthening of his new squad?
