Bayern will face a rematch of the Champions League semi-final on Tuesday and, despite all expectations, will have to beat the Austrian champions in the rematch. The opening game ended 1-1. What to expect from the match?
Bayern are far from being in an ideal frame of mind. Although they lead the Bundesliga by nine points, they have won only two of their last five matches in all competitions. Moreover, they only drew 1-1 in the rematch in Austria.
Salzburg, on the other hand, can rest easy. As an absolute outsider, they can only surprise on Tuesday, but at the same time they can make the match in the Allianz Arena count, as they lead the Austrian Bundesliga by nineteen points over Sturm Graz.
Robert Lewandowski, who has scored nine goals in the Champions League this season, is already looking forward to the rematch. He has thirty-nine goals in total. Thomas Müller boasts ten goals and twenty-two assists.
The talented German international Karim Adeyemi has scored nineteen times and assisted five times for the visitors. Danish right back Rasmus Kristensen has been unusually productive with nine goals and eight assists.
Lewandowski and Bayern as a whole seem to have run out of gunpowder, the Bavarians have scored more than one goal in only one of their last four games.
Salzburg, on the other hand, has not been performing nearly as well on their opponents’ pitches, winning only one of their last four away games and even losing twice.
Considering Salzburg’s poor away form and the world-class individuals in the home team, I think Bayern will win by two or more goals.
