Italian coach Simone Inzaghi has expressed his views on which teams he believes are the best in the world at the moment. He included Bayern Munich, Manchester City and, surprisingly, Barcelona.
“If you look at the statistics, you will see that Barcelona lost to Bayern Munich undeservedly. For me, Barcelona is one of the best teams in the world along with Bayern and Manchester City. These teams are playing the best football right now,” Inzaghi complimented his opponents.
There is no doubt that Barcelona is gradually emerging from the crisis. A lot of credit for this goes to the current coach of the Catalan team, Xavi, who has chosen great players for his squad and has duly incorporated them into an effective system.
The Spanish team has now received recognition from Inter as well. For Barcelona, this is a clear signal that the path they are on is probably the right one.
The other teams are no longer a surprise. Bayern and Manchester City are among the aspirants to win the Champions League title every year. But both teams have undergone some renewal over the summer.
The biggest change for the Bavarian side was definitely the departure of goal scorer Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona. City, on the other hand, warmly welcomed Erling Haaland, who is currently breaking goalscoring records in the Premier League.
