At some point Bayern would have to deal with this anyway, but it was not expected to be now and in such a hurry. Robert Lewandowski is doing everything he can to leave Munich this summer.
This is happening at a time when his competitor Erling Haaland already has a new position and there are not so many offensive aces of similar quality on the market. This problem will not be solved easily.
Dusan Vlahovic, who was supposed to be a hot commodity in the summer, is not available either. However, he signed for Juventus in January. Among the strikers, Karim Benzema is on a rampage, and he is definitely not leaving Real Madrid.
There were discussions about Patrik Schick, but he has signed a new long-term contract at Leverkusen. There is one solution, however, and Bayern seem to be aware of it.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Bavarian giant has tried to contact Napoli’s management to enquire about the availability of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen. He has now successfully managed a second season at the club.
Osimhen is 23 years old and is predicted to have a bright future. This season he has come into great form, but has been hampered by injury. In 32 games he scored 18 goals and added 6 assists.
Transfermarkt estimates Osimhen’s price tag at €60 million, however, according to Italian media, Napoli are not going to let him go for less than €100 million. Moreover, Bayern will have to face stiff competition as Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle are also interested in the player.
