Bayern won their Champions League rematch, beat Lazio Rome 3-0 at home and are now among the top eight teams after a 0-1 away defeat. Two goals from Harry Kane and one from Thomas Müller made the difference.

Matteo Guendouzi was the first to shoot, but his shot from the edge of the box was inaccurate. On the other side, Jamal Musiala was in an even better position, but his attempt was bounced for a corner by one of the stoppers.

In the 15th minute, the young German international fired again, but the Romans’ goalkeeper managed to box it out. The home team’s pressure intensified and Harry Kane narrowly missed the target two minutes later, thanks to a run by a defender.

In the 23rd minute, the visitors survived a double chance, first hitting the blue wall by Musiala, then by the incoming Raphael Guerreiro. In the 38th minute, Ciro Immobille could have sent the visitors into the lead out of nowhere, but he missed with a header alone in front of Manuel Neuer.

Bayern broke the deadlock late in the first half, with a header from cannonballer Harry Kane opening the scoring in the 40th minute. And in the second minute of the second half, Munich were already on the move, a great volley by Matthijs de Ligt was headed into the net by Thomas Müller.

Kane scored a brace

After the change of sides, Bayern went for a third goal and an insurance. In the 58th minute, Guerreiro took a great chance and shot inaccurately. Eight minutes later, the celebrations were already underway, with Kane again clearing into an empty net after a shot from Leroy Sané.

The home side continued to have an appetite, in the 71st minute Müller hit the bar, then Sané narrowly missed the left post. At the other end, Luis Alberto had a contact shot on his foot, but the Spaniard only hit the Bayern defenders and earned a corner.

In the end, the game was all about finishing, the Italians showed their frustration and got several yellow cards. After the 3-1 aggregate result, Bayern are among the top eight teams in the competition, while Lazio have to concentrate on the domestic scene.
