Bayern are arming themselves for the fight against PSG with the acquisition of Cancelo. This is how busy Nagelsmann’s squad looks
The last piece of the puzzle? João Cancelo should soon become the new signing for Bayern Munich, which will make Julian Nagelsmann’s team an incredibly loaded squad with double positions. Bayern will be armed for the duel with PSG in the Champions League eighth round.

Winning the Bundesliga is no longer a thrill for Bayern, the Bavarians have dominated it ten times in a row. Everything is thus heading in the direction of winning the Champions League, which they last did in the 2019/20 season.
Only since then, they have twice crashed out in the quarter-finals, first with PSG, then shockingly with Villareal. This year, Bayern want to make amends and reach at least the top four teams again, only they will face an obstacle named PSG right in the eighth round.
And Julian Nagelsmann has managed to bring in a huge and unexpected reinforcement. João Cancelo is regarded as one of the best full-backs in the world and Pep Guardiola has built the construction of Manchester City’s game on him.
But after disagreements between the Portuguese and the Spaniard and being left out of the line-up, the 28-year-old defender was allowed to leave.
Bayern, who have long admired Cancelo, took advantage of this and should conclude his arrival at the Allianz Arena today. Exactly 14 days before the eighth-final against PSG. Nagelsmann thus has a luxury squad doubled in all positions.

An extremely loaded squad that has competition at every position. Without spending big money, Bayern have built an excellent squad that they will have to capitalise on for Valentine’s Day. It is on 14 February that they will take on PSG in their first Champions League match at the Parc des Princes.
