Bayer Leverkusen hosts Eintracht Frankfurt in the 27th round of the Bundesliga. The upcoming duel can certainly be described as a mutual battle for the last place in the European Cups. What to expect from Leverkusen vs Frankfurt and what to bet on?
One single point – that’s the difference between the current sixth (Frankfurt) and seventh (Leverkusen) teams in the German top flight.
And it is on Saturday, April 8 at 15:30 that the two teams will clash, and the upcoming duel can be described as a mutual battle for the last place in the European Cups. However, Leverkusen will have the home advantage.
With 40 points, they are seventh in the Bundesliga and are in great form. Bayer last lost at home to Mainz on 19 February (2: 3), but in their last eight competitive matches they have won seven times and drawn once.
Frankfurt are doing exactly the opposite. Of their last ten games, only two wins, four draws and the rest losses. March’s record looks even worse.
Two league draws against Wolfsburg and Stuttgart, then a clear loss in Naples, another at the Union Berlin ground and two draws against Fürth and Bochum. Only last time, in the DFB Pokal, Frankfurt managed to win, beating Union Berlin 2:0.
Matches and stars of both teams
These teams have not met in the current calendar year. In the last one, Frankfurt won (5: 1) and before that Leverkusen won (2: 0). In 2021 it was again evenly matched, but this time 2: 2.
Moussa Diaby has been the home side’s offensive workhorse in the current campaign, scoring eight goals and assisting six more. The second is Jeremie Frimpong with the same record, the third is Adam Hložek with seven points (4+3).
As far as Eintracht is concerned, Randal Kolo Muani is clearly the biggest star (12+10). It should be noted, with 12 shots he is the third best scorer in the entire Bundesliga. Seven goals were scored by Daichi Kamada and Jesper Lindstrom.
So what to expect from Leverkusen’s duel with Frankfurt? Plain and simple – given their current form, the home side should manage this match and move up to sixth in the German Bundesliga.
