Basharat of the Octagon has taken on the UFC! Plus, he got revenge on the opponent who called him a terrorist
Javid Basharat was supposed to fight for a title in the Octagon organization, but ended up fighting only one fight in it and put everything into preparation for a UFC fight. The organization has now signed him to a contract and Basharat becomes the second Afghan in the prestigious organization.
Javid Basharat was supposed to fight for a title in the Octagon organization, but ended up fighting only one fight in it and put everything into preparation for a UFC fight. The organization has now signed him to a contract and Basharat becomes the second Afghan in the prestigious organization.
Javid Basharat was supposed to fight for the title with Filip Mack in the Octagon organization, but that eventually fell through, the Afghan MMA fighter decided to fight for the UFC.
He has now done so, defeating his opponent Oron Kahlon on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series show and Dana White has offered him a contract.
“It’s a great feeling. It feels like this is the right way to do it. I’ve been working for a long time on all of this and I’m glad to finally be here… I’ll take my time, but I already have a lot of confidence in myself and my abilities. I feel like I could be in the top 15 right now, but we’ll see how it goes. Anyway, I’m really looking forward to it.
The better my opponents are, the better I will be, because they will get the best out of me. I’m really looking forward to what’s to come. I’m part of Jake Shields’ team now, so I’ll be moving to Vegas to train. The sky’s the limit,” he said after earning his UFC contract.
Basharat has 11 fights under his belt and has won them all. Moreover, the undefeated fighter has finished all his opponents before the limit, something he appreciates in the so-called Champions League.
It is a proper satisfaction as Kahlon called him a terrorist after staredown, to which the organisation did not react in any way. But White has since commented on it.
“It worked itself out. That’s the beauty of this sport. It’s not a nice sport, it’s a very tough sport. A lot of nasty things are said, but in the end, justice is often served. It was clearly resolved in the match. The fighter paid for what he said. That’s exactly what happened,” he said.
