The current national break has been very unlucky for Barcelona. Four of its players were injured in matches for their national teams. In addition, another had to miss training due to difficulties.
Four injuries, with another key player suffering from muscle problems. That’s the balance of Barcelona’s players in the ongoing national team training camp. And all this after only the first game played.
The first injured is striker Memphis Depay. He had to withdraw in the 51st minute in the Nations League match for the Netherlands and is expected to be out until the end of October. The Catalan club will therefore miss about a month.
His teammate Frenkie de Jong has also suffered further problems. Fortunately, they are not as serious and the doctors have ordered the youngster to rest for a week.
A little more serious is Jules Koundé, who represents France. This defender is expected to miss three to four weeks and it is possible that he will miss the very important El Clásico.
Ronald Araújo was the last player who had to withdraw from the national team due to injury. Although he will miss his club for about two weeks, his injury is fortunately not serious.
Barcelona also have to worry about Ousmane Dembélé. The French winger, who is currently playing in the form of his life, had to miss the pre-match training due to muscle problems.
He came on for the final thirteen minutes of the match, so it can be assumed that these problems will not be of a serious nature.
