Champions League
Barcelona were lucky to start with Plzen and prepare for Bayern. What are they writing about Victoria in Spain?

Viktoria Plzeň played in the Champions League again after four years and played Barcelona at the Camp Nou for the first time. After a hat-trick by Lewandowski and goals by Kessié and Torres, they lost 1-5
If Viktoria wanted to keep a clean sheet at the Camp Nou for as long as possible, they didn’t succeed. In the 13th minute, Kessié scored after a corner and Lewandowski added the second goal.
“Koundé won the head-to-head with the Czech giants and passed the ball to Kessié for the goal. It is the third assist in two games for the French defender,” Diario AS describes the first goal.
“Viktoria didn’t have much, but had a chance to level the match when the referee awarded a penalty after Christensen fouled Mosquera. But after watching it on VAR, the referee waved off the Colombian’s foul. After a brief scare, the game was back in Barcelona’s hands,” MARCA reports.
“Pedri could have added a third goal, but Jemelka kicked the ball off the line. And as football goes, the game was 2-1 when the Czechs scored from their first shot on target just before half-time,” MARCA adds.
Plzen didn’t stay within striking distance for long, however, as Lewandowski scored again just before half-time to make it 3-1.”There was a minute to go until half-time, but Dembélé and Lewandowski didn’t allow the Czechs to be reborn. The Frenchman won the ball near the Pilsen penalty area and centred to Lewandowski, who added a second goal,” writes Mundo Deportivo.
In the second half, Lewandowski scored a hat-trick, with Ferran Torres scoring the fifth goal. Pilsen took home a goal from Camp Nou, but at least they got a goal.
“Fate has given Barcelona a tough group with big rivals like Bayern and Inter. Viktoria Plzen is the minnow of the group and Xavi’s charges were lucky that the first match of the group was with Plzen at Camp Nou. The Catalans have warmed up nicely for their trip to Munich next week,” writes MARCA.
“The great Barca sent a message to Europe. After Lewandowski’s hat-trick, they blasted Pilsen, where the Culés made up for their Champions League misery of recent years,” summarises Diario AS.
