Barcelona solves another problem, cannot offer lucrative salaries to rising stars
Fear runs through Barcelona. After Lionel Messi left for free due to lack of funds, a similar scenario is looming for rising stars. Although the club claims that everything looks good, according to media reports, everything is not so rosy.
Barcelona have a clear priority. With Lionel Messi gone, it wants to keep at least its young rising stars. But two of them are out of contract after this season.
Both Ansu Fati and Pedri are among the big stars of the future, if their health is good and they keep an honest and responsible attitude. The Catalans would hate to lose them.
However, with their contracts expiring in the summer, they are identified with other clubs, who are thus throwing the lasso and waiting to see if at least one of the stars catches on.
Bayern, for example, is among the interested parties and would like to take advantage of Barcelona’s unflattering financial situation. However, clubs from the English Premier League are also monitoring the situation.
Barcelona is constantly reassuring the fans. It has made it clear what is a priority for the club. He still stands by the fact that negotiations are going well on all sides.
But according to Goal, all is not so rosy and final agreements are nowhere near as close as Barcelona claim.
The club would like to offer lucrative contracts to the players as it wants to properly value its future gems. It’s just that it can’t afford to do so.
Barcelona’s management tries to compensate for the impossibility of offering high wages with details such as the length of the contracts, or also with various bonus clauses. In short, it does its best to let the players know that their current concession will be returned to them in the future.
Of course, the very fact that both Fati and Pedri have a high position in the team is a big motivation. They are important figures and their position will probably only get better.
But will they resist the call of other big clubs that can offer not only immediately high earnings but also real competitiveness?
