In short, the Catalan big club needs to strengthen. The Barcelona coach has made no secret of the fact that he urgently needs to bring in a right-back, preferably an offensive-minded one.
These parameters should be met by Noussair Mazraoui, who currently plays for Ajax Amsterdam, but his contract in the Netherlands is valid only until June 2022 and he will reportedly not extend it.
According to Spanish news site Sport, the 24-year-old Moroccan international is said to be not only a suitable but also an affordable signing. Indeed, Sergiño Dest is currently playing at right-back, so Mazraoui would promise more quality.
According to the latest reports, Mazraoui has already agreed to the new deal and nothing should prevent this transfer in the future. However, Joan Laporta must be careful with signings, as Erling Haaland’s exit clause will be active in the summer transfer window.
Based on the information available, the Catalan outfit is ready to do absolutely everything they can to bring the Norwegian superstar. It should be noted, the amount that Barcelona representatives would have to prepare is 64 million pounds.
The Morocco international has been a part of the Dutch club since he was nine years old. He joined the famous Ajax academy in 2006. Since then, Mazraoui has come a long way and established himself as a key figure in the Ajax starting eleven.
Especially in the current season, he has been putting in some truly admirable performances. In total, however, he has played 123 games for the Amsterdam side, scoring nine goals and adding eight assists.
He has won the championship twice with Ajax, namely in the 2018/19 and 2020/21 seasons, lifted the Dutch Cup winners’ trophy over his head twice and also won the Dutch Super Cup in 2020.
