One of Barcelona’s greatest modern talents is leaving the club where he went through all the youth categories and peeked into the A team. That player is twenty-one-year-old midfielder Ramón Rodríguez Jiménez, who is nicknamed Monchu for short. His new club is Granada CF.

Last season, Monchu was a guest at second division club Girona FC. During the loan spell, the Palma de Mallorca native played a total of 43 games, scoring 3 goals, notching 1 assist and overall being a key player for the club.

After returning from his loan spell, he didn’t stay too long in Barcelona as he is now heading to another club. However, this is no longer a guest appearance, but a permanent transfer.

Monchu has signed for Granada CF, with whom he has signed a contract until 30 June 2025.

The club, whose stadium is Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes, did not have to pay a single euro for the young player. Monchu therefore comes for free.

On the other hand, FC Barcelona will receive 50% of any future sale of the player and also reserves the right of first refusal and the option to buy him back.
