Barcelona had already scouted four potential replacements for Ter Stegen. Who is one of them?
Barcelona is not having a good season after the departure of Lionel Messi. They would like to rely at least on the performance of their goalkeeper, but Marc-André ter Stegen is definitely not the mainstay he should be. So there is a lot of talk about the Catalan giant replacing him.

Barcelona have struggled this season. It won’t make it to the Champions League knockout fights and will only show up in the Europa League in the spring, who knows how great it is in the table.
There is a slight improvement under Xavi, but it’s certainly not the boost that was expected so far. Barcelona would need something to fall back on, preferably a quality goalkeeping performance. But Marc-André ter Stegen is not the mainstay he should be.
Until relatively recently, the German goalkeeper was regularly mentioned among the best goalkeepers on the planet, but now he should definitely not be one of them. The Catalan outfit are already considering not only replacing him, but even selling him.
According to WhoScored, Ter Stegen is the 30th best goalkeeper in La Liga this season, with an average mark of 6.28, which is certainly not flattering.
And who is actually going to replace him? According to journalist Gerard Romero, there are four names in the pool, with at least one being speculated for quite some time.
Andre Onana, who belongs to Ajax but is serving time for doping, could return to Camp Nou. However, he could catch again from the beginning of next year.
The 29-year-old Belgian goalkeeper Koen Casteels (Wolfsburg) is being considered, but there are also two still quite young and talented goalkeepers in the game.
Barcelona likes 21-year-old Illan Meslier, who plays for Leeds, or 24-year-old Bartłomiej Drągowski from Fiorentina.
