Barcelona doesn’t care about the people who wrote the club’s history. Dani Alves has finally come out with the truth
He didn’t bother with his words as usual. Dani Alvés is now in his second stint at the Catalan club. However, his six-month contract expired in June and Barcelona did not want to extend it any further. The Brazilian says he did not leave the Camp Nou sad, however, there is a certain aftertaste in many of his words in a recent interview.
He didn’t bother with his words as usual. Dani Alvés is now in his second spell at the Catalan club. However, his six-month contract expired in June and Barcelona did not want to extend it any further. The Brazilian says he did not leave the Camp Nou sad, however, there is a certain aftertaste in many of his words in a recent interview.
He came to help in the worst of times to get my beloved club back on its feet. Dani Alves offered himself to Barcelona, who used his services and brought him into their team during the winter months. The 39-year-old Brazilian full-back had dreamed of this second leg for five years.
“The only thing I didn’t like was the way my departure was handled. I made it clear from the beginning that I was no longer 20 years old and I wanted to be clear without hiding anything. This club has been guilty of many sins in recent years. Barcelona does not care about the people who wrote its history,” Dani Alves revealed in an interview with The Guardian.
The world football legend claims that as a culé, he would like things to work differently. He would not like to talk only about himself because his situation was different. Anyway, he stresses that he is grateful to Xavi and president Joan Laporta for bringing him back.
“The club is full of young people with great ideas on the pitch, but the work off the pitch needs to improve. The mentality is completely opposite to what we had a few years ago. Everything that happens on the pitch is a reflection of what happens off it,” said the man who has become one of the best players at his position during his career.
Alves is still backing Barcelona to return to the top, but knows full well that it is still a complicated process. “Football is a team sport. And that has been lost at the club,” he revealed, surprisingly. The Brazilian stalwart still has his sights set on participating in the upcoming World Cup, which takes place in Qatar this year. He likes challenges and can adapt to any situation.
“I am unemployed now, but there are interesting offers. I’m analysing the places I can go and which has a good level of competition. You have to meet people who have the same goal, want to compete and win. I want to go somewhere where I can win, ” explained the former Juventus or Paris Saint-Germain player, among other things.
He knows very well that everyone is talking about his age. Almost twenty years ago, perhaps the whole football world wanted him, but now his options are limited. “I don’t agree with that. I have experience that I didn’t have before. In key games, youngsters are nervous, worried, but I am not,” said Alvez, who knows very well that age has its pros and cons.
