Everyone knows that Barcelona is in financial trouble. So the Catalan giant has to think a lot about what move to make in its quest to strengthen. At the moment, he has two interesting players in his sights, but he is short of money. That could change quickly with one interesting sale.

37 games, 10 goals, 13 assists. A good season? Certainly not bad, but still not enough to keep Raphinha in the Blaugranas starting lineup. At many times, he was literally the only footballer who was valid up front, always inventing something and never giving up. In moments of crisis, he could be the difference maker.

Yet he could be the one sacrificed in an attempt to make money. Barcelona are relying more and more on Lamine Yamal, and they want to strengthen the wing spaces with new faces. The main one is currently the star of Athletic Bilbao and the Spanish national team at EURO 2024, Nico Williams.

Williams is younger than Raphinha, plus he seems to be more useful for his teams. At least in the last season he was more useful for Bilbao than Raphina for the Catalan team, even through the numbers. He scored 8 goals in 37 games, to which he added 19 assists.

His strength is his speed, he also has a great dribbling, overall he doesn’t have many weaknesses. At 21 years of age, a huge hope for the future. Raphinha can’t move on that much at 27.

It’s just that Barcelona doesn’t have the money for Williams. That’s why Raphinha’s departure is in play. At least that’s what Mundo Deportivo reports.

Barcelona may see a rescue from Saudi Arabia

According to Transfermarkt, Raphinha is valued at 50 million euros. Many clubs in Europe would not pay a higher amount for him. But in Saudi Arabia, the local champion, Al Hilal, reportedly has no problem paying even 90 million. Moreover, the player’s agent Jorge Jesus would welcome the player to expand the Brazilian colony at the club. Neymar and Malcom already play for Al Hilal.

The question is whether the Brazilian will want to leave Catalonia. However, he could hear of big money. He can then provide for his family whenever he can still return to Europe. However, he has turned down several offers in the past because of his transfer to Camp Nou, and he is reportedly turning them down now.

Barcelona, however, would certainly not be angry in the event of his departure. In fact, the money earned could not only come from the aforementioned Nico Williams, who could be up for grabs for as little as 50 million. The Blaugranas are also said to be interested in Liverpool star Luis Diaz. However, he could already fetch a bit more.
