The semifinal battles of the WTA tournament in Dubai will also have a participant from the Czech Republic – Barbora Krejcikova. She will challenge Switzerland’s Teichmann on Friday. Who will be happy to advance to the final?
Krejcikova is ranked 63rd in the WTA rankings. However, if she manages to reach the final in Dubai, she could jump to 37th place. If she were to win the whole tournament, she would move up another nine positions.
Judging by her performance so far, that’s not unrealistic at all. The 25-year-old native of Brno has beaten Sakkari, Ostapenko, Kuznetsova and Potapova. Moreover, she won all her matches 2:0.
Her opponent on Friday will be Teichmann. It will also be the first semi-final appearance at a WTA 1000 tournament for the 23-year-old Swiss tennis player.
In 2021, the left-handed tennis player has already played fourteen matches, ten of which she won. Among the biggest scalps are Petra Kvitova, Cori Gauff and Ons Jabeur.
So what to bet on? Krejcikova is a slight favourite in the duel, as she won the only mutual match at the tournament in Ostrava last year.
However, Teichmann did not lose a single set in Dubai. In this surprising semi-final we can expect a very interesting battle that could offer at least 21 games. You can bet on it at odds of 1.72.
