Czech tennis fans must be happy to see the WTA rankings. There are two Czech tennis players in the top ten, Barbora Krejcikova is back in the second place.
Although Barbora Krejčíková is currently not competing due to an elbow injury, she has improved in the overall WTA rankings. She leapfrogged Spain’s Badosa and moved back to second place.
Karolina Pliskova also improved her position. She leapfrogged Belarusian Sabalenka, who was burnt out at the tournament in Madrid, where she was defending her victory from last year.
As for the other Czech tennis players, Petra Kvitová, who is currently ranked 34th, dropped out of the top 30. Markéta Vondroušová is right behind her.
On the other hand, improvements awaited Kateřina Siniakova (45th) and Maria Bozkova, who jumped nine places to 68th after a successful Madrid.
The WTA rankings are still dominated by Poland’s Iga Swiatek, who has a comfortable lead of 2050 points. She also holds an admirable record of 23 matches won in a row, so the top spot is in the hands of the right tennis player.
Not much has changed in doubles. Katerina Siniakova still leads the rankings ahead of Belgium’s Mertens. Barbora Krejcikova is in third position.
