Barbora Krejcikova improved her ranking maximum again!

The year 2021 is like a fairy tale for Barbara Krejcikova. The 25-year-old native of Brno became the queen of the famous French Open, to which she later added a gold medal from the Tokyo Olympics. Now she has managed to improve her ranking maximum again.

Barbora Krejcikova finished 2020 at 65th place in the WTA rankings. At that time, she had only four triumphs in singles at ITF tournaments. But then came the turning point.

In the current season, the former world number one is almost unbeatable in doubles. Proof of that is her dominance of the French Open and tournaments in Strasbourg and Prague.

However, we must not forget the final in Dubai or the quarterfinals of the US Open. The result is 4,518 points and the certainty of participation in the Champions Tournament (together with Bary, Sabalenka and Pliskova).

The Tokyo gold medalist’s overall record in the current year is 43 wins and only 13 losses. Moreover, those usually came against players who are also among the world’s top players.

A significant move up in the WTA rankings must have occurred, of course. Krejcikova is currently ranked fourth with a total of 4,748 points. Moreover, there may be further improvement in the near future.

The third place is currently occupied by Karolina Pliskova, who has a 572-point lead over her compatriot. A change in the Czech number one could take place at the aforementioned Tournament of Champions, which starts on 10 November in Guadalajara, Mexico.
