Barbora Krejcikova lost on Friday against world number one Barty, who taught her a lesson. Krejcikova complained that the demanding schedule was exhausting her and she could not play to her liking.

Ashleigh Barty, who is the world number one, defeated Krejcikova in the first set with a clear 6:2 result, then took the second set to her side with a 6:4 ratio. One of the factors why the Czech tennis player lost is her demanding tournament schedule.

Barbora Krejcikova participated in the tournament in Cincinnati in singles and doubles. In doubles she played together with her long-time teammate Katerina Siniakova. In singles she reached the quarterfinals, in doubles the Czech pair reached the semifinals, finishing just outside the gates of the final.

As a result we can evaluate it very nicely, but it could have been better, where the Czech player did not have such a difficult program. She had to play 6 matches in two days.

“Because of the conditions here, I couldn’t give a 100% performance. I’m disappointed,” Krejcikova said about the situation.

Barbora Krejčíková won both singles and doubles at Roland Garros this year, and took home the doubles gold medal from the Tokyo Olympics. So her achievements are nice, but it is very mentally and physically demanding for her.

“No athlete can go 100 per cent for six matches in two days. My legs were not working. I have nowhere to take energy. No athlete is bottomless,” she continued on the challenging situation.

She had the same demanding schedule in Tokyo, for example, where she dropped out in the singles in the eighth round, so she had room to focus more on the doubles. But is it possible for her to endure such challenging conditions until the end of the season?

She will have a shorter layoff until August 30, when the US Open begins. There, she will once again compete in singles and doubles.
