Balotelli: Napoli can sign me in winter
Mario Balotelli, the bad child of Italian football, is known through his scandals and media outbursts. However, the Italian striker, who is currently under contract at Turkish side Demirspor, has once again come out in public saying that he would be a great replacement for Victor Osimhen.
Mario Balotelli, the bad child of Italian football, is known through his scandals and media outbursts. However, the Italian striker, who is currently under contract at Turkish side Demirspor, has once again come out in public saying that he would be a great replacement for Victor Osimhen.
Balotelli and Turkey
In August he celebrated his 33rd birthday, by which time he was back in Turkey, where he had left over a year ago. Do you think he was leaving is so? Certainly not, the club terminated his contract after Balotelli slapped the coach, just when it looked like he could be one of the biggest stars in the Turkish league.
SuperMario, as the player is nicknamed, played 33 games in the 2021/22 season, in which he managed to score a brilliant 19 goals. Balotelli forced the attention of spectators across Europe, especially with his performance in the last round against Göztepe, when he scored 5 goals.
However, the current season has been disappointing for the Italian. Currently, the striker is undergoing rehabilitation from the surgery on his injured knee that limited him at the beginning of the season.
Balotelli has only played 181 minutes in 5 games and still managed to get the ball in the net 3 times. Upon his return, however, fans probably expected more from him.
Last season
After a bitter end at Demirspor, Balotelli ventured into unknown Swiss waters. Sion’s owner and especially the fans promised a lot from the Italian striker, but got little. The Italian hit 21 games and scored only 6 times. He also received more yellow cards, 9 to be exact.
But even in Switzerland the engagement did not end peacefully. Balotelli terminated his contract there after he was forced to train alone in the summer. The owner of Sion himself has also commented on the player
“Signing Balotelli was a mistake, I admit. He was supposed to be a player who would score 20 goals, instead he scored only 5 and the performance was also below expectations,” reported football-italia.
Balotelli offers himself to Napoli
At the moment, Balotelli is recovering from knee surgery and is letting his mouth drop again. This should be related to the interest of big European clubs in Napoli goalkeeper Victor Osimhen, around whom the biggest clubs in the world have been circling for some time. The Italian striker has thus announced himself to the team.
Balotelli has already mentioned his alleged love for Napoli several times in comments and this time he offers himself to Napoli: “Napoli? De Laurentiis can sign me in January. As Osimhen’s successor, I guarantee I will score a lot of goals.” We’ll see in January if the possible transfer works out, but everyone would probably be in awe.
