Mario Balotelli has found a new job after his stint at Monza. The experienced striker has signed a three-year contract with the newcomer to the Turkish Süper Lig and will try to restart his career at Adana Demirspor. Can the troubled footballer make it in Turkey?
Balotelli played last season for Italian second division side AC Monza, whom he was expected to help to promotion to Serie A. He scored fourteen goals in fourteen games, but even that didn’t help him get promoted to the top flight.
After the season, he became a free agent again, but he didn’t wait long for a new engagement, as he has now agreed to join Turkish club Adana Demirspor. The newcomer to the Turkish Süper Lig has committed the services of the experienced striker to a three-year contract.
For the troubled Balotelli, this will be the tenth club in his career. He has previously donned the jerseys of AC Lumezzane, Inter Milan, Manchester City, AC Milan, Liverpool, Nice, Marseille, Brescia and Monza.
“Today we have completed a transfer that will go down in golden letters in the history of our club,” the Turkish club’s management said on the signing of Balotelli.
It remains to be seen if the Italian rebel can find his lost form and be a valid player for his new employer again.
Most of the time it has been the other way around, and so many football fans are curious to see if this engagement will also turn out to be a fiasco.
