Czech tennis player Karolína Muchová is facing unpleasant news that forced her to withdraw from the upcoming Tournament of Champions in Cancun, Mexico. Markéta Vondroušová will be the only Czech to take part in the singles event, which starts on 29 October.
The bad news comes from the team of Czech tennis player Karolina Muchova. Unfortunately, she will not be part of the WTA Finals as her wrist problems continue.
“I am heartbroken to announce that I will miss my first WTA final in Cancun. Together with the team and the doctors, we tried everything until the last moments to solve my injured wrist.
Unfortunately, the time needed to heal is longer than we had hoped for and I had to make this unpleasant decision. I really appreciate the support of all the fans. I will do everything I can to come back in 2024 and get a chance to be part of the WTA Finals,” Muchová informed her fans on her Instagram.
The chances of participating in the Billie Jean King Cup are greatly diminishing
Karolina Much’s wrist problems also put her in a difficult situation regarding her participation in the final Billie Jean King Cup tournament, which takes place in Seville, Spain, from November 6.
The Czech tennis player was supposed to play there, but it is almost certain that she will have to miss matches in the national team’s uniform due to the injury.
Summary and future prospects
For Czech tennis player Karolina Muchova, it remains unclear when she will be able to return to the court and when she will start competing at the top level again. A wrist injury has caused her absence from two major tennis events, which is certainly disappointing for her and her fans.
Now we can only wait for more news regarding her health and when she will return to the tennis world. As well as what form she will return in.
