Austrian Messi or Greek superstar or 5 talented strikers who are stagnating this year
Players like Alejandro Garnacho and Evan Ferguson have taken their chances this season. However, several of these exceptional talents have shown up in previous seasons and seemed to have a great future ahead of them. Now, however, things are different and their careers seem to be stagnating.
This season, players like Alejandro Garnacho and Evan Ferguson have taken their chances well. However, several of these exceptional talents have shown up in previous seasons and seemed to have a great future ahead of them. Now, however, things are different and their careers seem to be stagnating.
Yusuf Demir (right wing, Galatasaray)
The great hope of Austrian football moved to Barcelona last year before the season. The right winger with great technique reminded many fans of Messi, but he didn’t get too much workload and his loan spell ended in January.
In the summer he moved to Galatasaray for €6 million, but thanks to injuries he played only 66 minutes in the league. He really has the potential, he was the driving force of Rapid Vienna in the 2020/21 season and scored 6 goals in the Austrian top flight.
Ansu Fati (left wing, Barcelona)
Another new Messi. Ansu Fati, however, had, and hopefully still has, the best chance of all. The player who took over from Messi as number 10 flew into the league like a hurricane in the 2019/20 season, scoring seven goals at just 17 years old. However, he missed the following 2 seasons and is still looking for it in the current one.
Konrad De La Fuente (left winger, Olympiakos)
Another player linked with Barcelona and a great promise for American football, he left Catalonia in 2021 to try his luck in Marseille.
In his first season, he notched 2 assists in the league and 1 goal in the ECL. He is spending the current season on loan at Olympiakos, but has played just 197 minutes in total.
Christos Tzolis (left wing, Norwich)
The youngest player ever to score in the Greek Super League. Even so, the fast, dynamic Greek, Christos Tzolis is known for that. After his meteoric second season at Thessaloniki, he has moved to the Premier League newcomer Norwich.
But he didn’t get many opportunities in the famous England and started this season at Twente. However, he didn’t do well there either and scored only once in the league. He stayed at Norwich for the second half of the season.
Felix Afena-Gyan (centre forward, Cremonese)
Mourinho bought him a new pair of cleats when he decided the duel with Genoa last season in November as a joker with two goals.
Since then, however, he hasn’t scored for AS Roma in the league and switched to Cremonese in the summer. However, he has also struggled there and hasn’t scored a single goal in 12 league games, scoring 2 goals at least in the Coppa Italia.
