Austria vs. France: preview and betting tips

on

Although Austria was eliminated in the first round of the World Cup play-offs against Wales in the spring after a 1:2 loss, they entered the Nations League with a win over Croatia and despite losing to Denmark they are still in a good second place.

France, on the other hand, remain far behind expectations. While Didier Deschamps is rotating the squad, there is still one star name playing alongside another. However, it doesn’t carry the points, after a home loss to the Danes they only drew with the Croatians 1-1.

The mainstay of the home team is striker Sasa Kalajdzic, he has scored five times for Stuttgart this season and assisted on four more goals. Salzburg’s talented central midfielder Nicolas Seiwald assisted ten goals and scored one himself.

It’s in France’s squad that virtually every name is stellar. Karim Benzema is the top candidate to win the Ballon d’Or, Kylian Mbappé is the top scorer and player in Ligue 1. Other teammates have also had excellent seasons.

Austria’s defence has not been ideal, scoring more than once in four of their last six games.

France, on the other hand, have not performed convincingly away from home, winning only one of their three matches away from France since the Euros.

Given the miserable form of Austria’s defence and the quality of France’s attack, I think the visitors will outshoot their opponents.
