Atlético showed their hatred for Real again. The name of Vinícius is not written, the flag is not shown

The Santiago Bernabéu saw the 292nd Madrid derby on Thursday, with Real Madrid once again having the upper hand. At the same time, it showed once again how much Atlético hates its city rival.

The rivalry is at its maximum between the two Madrid clubs, but the hatred is more prevalent from the red and white side.

The Colchoneros see Real as the richer, better, more successful, arrogant neighbour, for whom they wish only the worst. That’s why it’s often said that Atlético fans’ hatred of Real is much greater than the other way around.

For a long time, Atleti were more of a ‘pain in the arse’ for Real than an equal opponent, but after the arrival of Diego Simeone, the rivalry has once again risen to an all-time high.

And the fact that Atlético cannot stand up to Real was once again confirmed in Thursday’s derby. At the moment, the biggest enemy of the Rojiblancos is Vinícius Junior, who irritates Atlético with his dances, goals and arguments with his opponents.

Thus, when Vinícius scored in the setup for a 3: 1, Atleti didn’t even hesitate to post his name on their official Instagram. Yet when Benzema scored the more important goal at 2::1, where frustration would have been more understandable, his name was no problem to write.

Fans found another example of childish behaviour before the game. Captains Karim Benzema and Koke exchanged club flags and the Frenchman, as is customary, posed for a photo with the Atlético flag.

However, Koke refused and preferred to hide the Real flag behind his back so it would not be seen. Rivalry and hatred can be understood, but this is still a sport where there should be some respect between teams.

Some fans didn’t even like the complaints about the referee, who certainly didn’t influence the match and didn’t make any visible mistake. “If Savic got a red card, Ceballos should have got one too, but we are used to this,” goalkeeper Jan Oblak complained to referee De Burgos after the match.
