Jack Grealish has been one of the players linked with a move to the biggest clubs in England for several seasons now. However, the 25-year-old midfielder has so far remained loyal to Aston Villa, which could change after the Euros. But the Birmingham side are not giving up.
According to some media, Jack Grealish is very close to a transfer to Manchester City. The winner of last season’s Premier League is set to buy the Aston Villa star for £100 million.
Aston Villa, however, continue to fight for their gem and are certainly not going to give it up. The player is currently under contract at the club until 2025, but the Birmingham outfit would like to sign Grealish to a new deal.
The Telegraph reports that the Villains are willing to offer their captain £150,000 a week, plus they would like to increase his value to as much as £100 million.
However, Aston Villa are also hoping to end speculation over Grealish’s future from the potential signing. But the player himself is really starting to want success.
Grealish recently let the media know that he wants to win a big trophy: “I want to win either the Champions League or a big trophy with England, whether it’s the Euros or the World Cup. The World Cup would be iconic, but I think the Euros is just as good.”
The Aston Villa star looks to Ben Chilwell, who dominated the Champions League with Chelsea this season, for inspiration. By all accounts, then, it is not a question of if, but rather how much longer the Villains can keep their gem.
