Marco Asensio confirms his great form from the last few weeks and opened the match against Elche in the 21st round of La Liga with a wonderful goal.
Marco Asensio was one step away from leaving Real Madrid before the season. Coach Ancelotti practically didn’t count on the 27-year-old Spaniard, but in the end he couldn’t find a buyer for him and the player stayed at the club.
In the first half of the season, he was sporadically on the pitch and was given a chance in the last minutes of the game. In terms of numbers, he played only 497 minutes in twenty-one games.
But after the World Cup in Qatar, where he defended the colours of the Spanish national team, he returned a completely different player. In the new year, he has a slightly bigger role at Real Madrid, thanks to injuries, and he is rewarding coach Ancelotti with great performances.
Most recently, at the beginning of February, he scored a beautiful winning goal at home against Valencia that went around the world. He followed that up in today’s home league game against Elche, scoring the opening goal of the game in the eighth minute.
After a pass from Dani Carvajal opened up space in the middle of the pitch, Asensio made great use of the open space, got the ball past two opposing defenders and slid the ball into the net with a snappy shot.
The goal seemed to copy the typical goals of Lionel Messi, who regularly scored similar goals. Asensio fans admire the left-footed footballer for his beautiful goals and many joke that the Spaniard can’t actually score an ordinary goal.
You have to admit, the sum of Asensio’s goals is definitely worth it. And that’s just a selection of some of his goals. Let’s hope Asensio continues to entertain football fans with more beautiful goals.
