As the first UFC star posed for Playboy, now Maryna Moroz is facing a problem. This is how she took a punch from a Scottish woman and lost for the third time in a row
The UFC made its debut in Miami on Saturday night with a 299-televised gala on Sunday. The entire program kicked off with a women’s bout in which Ukrainian beauty Maryna Moroz went into action, holding an intriguing top spot. But now she is in an unflattering situation.
The UFC 299 made its debut in Miami on Saturday night. The entire program kicked off with a women’s bout in which Ukrainian beauty Maryna Moroz went into action, holding an intriguing top spot. But now she is in an unflattering situation.
The year was 2022, it was September. That’s when Maryna Moroz became the first ever UFC beauty to pose for Playboy men’s magazine. It was no wonder. At the time, the good-looking fighter had three straight wins.
Besides fighting, the Ukraine native, who has been living primarily in the United States for the past few years, is also a model. And rightly so. If one were to compile a list of the most beautiful female fighters in the UFC, she would definitely not be missing from it.
But a lot has changed since she posed for Playboy. Back then, she was facing a tough duel with Jennifer Maia that was supposed to put her closer to, quite possibly even directly into the top 15 in the UFC rankings for her weight class. It just didn’t happen.
After a streak of three wins in a row came a string of defeats. One that Moroz wanted to avert at the Miami gala. After all, she went into her fight with Joanne Wood as a slight favorite. But it didn’t show in the result.
Maryna Moroz lost her third straight fight in the UFC
Maryna Moroz and Joanne Wood opened the UFC 299 gala. It was a great chance for both fighters to tip the organization’s favor in their favor. Until recently, the Scottish fighter held a three-fight losing streak, but she overcame that in her last fight and now had the motivation to win.
The Ukrainian, on the other hand, was trying to avoid a third defeat in a row. But she failed to do that. But she has nothing to be ashamed of. It was a wonderful match, we saw a lot of great moments. Both fighters stood up to a lot.
Moroz, in particular, at one point, had a lot to do to keep from getting knocked out. Wood hit her with a great spinning back kick and almost put her on her ass. But we didn’t see the ending. Instead, the Scot won on a split decision.
The question is what’s next for the Ukrainian beauty. She’s now 6-6 in the UFC, and if her future were to be addressed, a three-fight losing streak certainly doesn’t speak in her favor.
