Tomáš Souček is starting his fifth season in a West Ham jersey, while Vladimír Coufal is in his fourth year with the Hammers. In that time, they have earned the respect of the club’s management and the hearts of most fans.

Both Czech footballers have settled into the starting line-up immediately after their arrival. Soucek in the winter of 2020 in the centre of midfield, Coufal three quarters of a year later at right back.

Last season, however, did not go at all to the Czech duo’s liking. Although Soucek was a regular in the starting line-up, his performances on the pitch did not match the minutes given by manager David Moyes.

But the summer break seemed to change everything. Both men have been in the West Ham jersey since the start of the season and are repaying manager Moyes’ trust with important goal scoring statistics.

Tomas Soucek has been starting in the number eight position again since Declan Rice’s departure to Arsenal and the increased freedom suits him downright well. He has already scored four goals in ten games, adding one assist.

Vladimir Coufal also has amazing statistics. He has started to sharpen West Ham’s right wing again and boasts four assists in the last four games.
