Arthur Fils vs. Dusan Lajovic: Preview and betting tips

On Thursday afternoon, the remaining eight-final matches are scheduled for the tournament in Hamburg. One of them will be the duel between Arthur Fils and Dusan Lajovic. The young French tennis player will be the favourite to advance.

Arthur Fils is one of the biggest rising stars on the ATP circuit. He is currently ranked 71st. Of his compatriots, only Mannarino, Humbert, Gasquet and Barrere are better off. However, they have much more experience.

It is undoubtedly a breakthrough season for the 19-year-old tennis player. He finished the 2022 calendar year in the top 100 of the ATP rankings. Among his greatest achievements is his triumph in Lyon in May.

After setbacks on grass, he returned to clay. In Hamburg he defeated Daniel Galan in the first round. The tennis player from Colombia lost after a nearly two-hour battle in sets 5:7 and 5:7.

Dusan Lajovic is currently ranked 60th in the ATP rankings. In the past, however, the Belgrade native was also ranked 23rd, but that was in 2019.

This year, the Serbian tennis player surprised significantly in Banje Luka, a city located in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the local environment, Lajovic showed the best of his repertoire and, after the scalps of Djokovic or Rublev, scored a very valuable title.

In Hamburg, he met his compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic in the first round. The ten years more experienced Serbian managed to turn the unfavourable match around and won after sets 3:6, 6:4 and 6:3. The players spent 119 minutes on the court.

The chances of advancing are quite even. However, it can be expected that Fils, who can help himself with a great serve, will be happy with the victory. It also remains a question in what physical condition Lajovic will enter the match.
