Since the start of the European Championship, Arsenal have been linked with a lot of players in the media. First it was Brighton’s Bissouma, then rumours came to light that the London club would be strengthened by Portuguese Neves. Now, however, it’s completely different and as Fabrizio Romano himself confirmed, Arsenal really aren’t idle yet.
The first reinforcement of the London Gunners should be the young Belgian midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga, who is already the captain of Anderlecht Brussels at the age of twenty-one. He follows Youri Tielemans, who boasted similar success.
According to renowned Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal should pay £17.5 million plus another £4 million in bonuses. In addition, Anderlecht should receive 15% of any resale of the young midfielder.
The second acquisition should be Portuguese defender Nuno Tavares from Benfica Lisbon. He should cost the Gunners just £8 million plus bonuses. Coach Mikel Arteta has eyed the young Portuguese as a second option for Kieran Tierney in the Europa League.
Then, over the past week, Arsenal have reportedly sent several bids for England international defender Ben White, who is a Brighton tribal player.
The club from the south of England have reportedly agreed to a £45 million deal, which could be as high as £55 million with bonuses. The player’s verbal agreement with the club has been agreed in the past, so it all depends on whether the two clubs come to an agreement.
Fabrizio Romano also came up with the latest news. The sporting director of Italian Sassuolo said that the club received an offer from Arsenal for the talented midfielder and star of this year’s Euros, Manuel Locatelli.
However, Locatelli has expressed that he would like to stay in Italy and so is the most likely candidate to win this Old Lady gem.
However, the Italian defender has been injured at the championship and is facing a possible one-year break, which will most likely derail his transfer to a better team.
The first two aforementioned should be unveiled early next week, for other potential transfers we will probably have to wait until the end of the Euros.
Arsenal are having a very interesting summer indeed and coach Mikel Arteta seems to be serious about his purge.
In fact, earlier this week 3 youngsters with whom the Spanish coach had no plans left the club and others are reportedly on their way out including former captain Xhaka, defender Bellerin, Mavropanos, Holding, Chambers, Torreira and Willian.
