In the last week of the Champions League, we have seen the return legs of the eight-final matches and we know who will qualify. PSG will play in the quarter-finals, having beaten Real Sociedad of Spain 2-0 and 2-1.
Bayern Munich, who lost 0:1 to Lazio, also beat their opponents but rallied back to win 3:0 at home. Real Madrid played Leipzig to a draw, winning the first leg 1:0 and in the return leg a 1:1 draw was enough.
The last known advancing team so far is Manchester City, who took on Copenhagen. The first match in Denmark ended with Pep Guardiola’s team winning 3:1, and the fans saw the same result in the return leg. What games are coming up today?
Arsenal vs Porto
Arsenal failed to score a goal in Portugal and came away with a 0:1 defeat. They bounced back in the league, beating Newcastle 4: 1, Sheffield United 6: 0 and Brentford 2: 1. Porto have won three games and drawn one since their last meeting, and even handed Benfica a 5:0 debacle.
Arsenal are the favourites for the eight-final rematch, playing at home at Emirates Stadium, where they have been winning consistently since the start of the season. At home, it lost only to Liverpool and West Ham and drew with Spurs. Porto, on the other hand, has not been very stable away recently.
Barcelona vs Napoli
The opening game was played in Naples and ended in a 1-1 draw. Robert Lewandowski scored in the 60th minute and Victor Osimhen equalised a quarter of an hour later. Barcelona were the better side in the match and will be the favourites for the rematch.
The match is not exactly played at home, but at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, where the Camp Nou is being renovated. Its form is better, Napoli has won only three of its last 10 games and has changed coaches. However, a 3-5 home defeat to Villarreal or a 3-3 draw are a clear exclamation point for coach Xavi’s team.
