The highlight of the weekend’s Premier League round will be Arsenal’s clash with Manchester United. The former will challenge the latter and a loss by the visitors could spell the end of any realistic hopes of a championship title. What to expect from the match and what to bet on?
Arsenal are very comfortable. Since Christmas, they have won four of their five games and drawn one, most recently beating Tottenham 2-0 in the derby. They are five points clear of second-placed Manchester City at the top of the table, with a home game against Everton to boot.
Manchester United lost for the first time since the World Cup in Qatar this week, drawing 1-1 at Crystal Palace with the Londoners’ goal. From third place, they are eight points behind Arsenal and have played one more game.
Arsenal’s key figures
The Gunners have been dragged through the form of their lives by Norwegian midfielder and team captain Martin Odegaard, author of eight goals and three assists. The young but already experienced Bukay Saku cannot be forgotten either, the left-footed winger boasts a record of 7+7.
Key Manchester players
The visitors’ offensive is based on Marcus Rashford, the English international has scored 16 goals and assisted six others. Luke Shaw has been doing well at left back and as a stopper since the World Cup in Qatar and will probably start on the edge of the defence against Arsenal.
Betting tip
Arsenal not only works in attack, he doesn’t score much either. Since the World Cup, he has received just three goals in five games, including one from a penalty kick. With 14 goals in his net, he is second best in the league after Newcastle.
However, Manchester are rolling forward again. He has struck more than once in six of his eight games since December, humbling the Citizens defence twice. But to be precise, the remaining opponents have been from the second half of the table, and even from the second and third league in the cup.
Considering the Gunners’ form, the fact that they have lost only two points at home so far, and the absence of the visiting Casemiro, who was sidelined against Palace, I think Arsenal will return the defeat to their opponents at the Emirates.
