Arsenal defeated Leeds 2-0 in the EFL Cup quarter-finals to reach the quarter-finals. This was the eighth game in a row that Arsenal did not lose.

Mikel Arteta managed to put his charges on a good wave and they are currently doing well. Out of the last eight games, Arsenal have won six and drawn twice. The last time they lost was at the end of August.

Arsenal have had a horrible start to the season, losing their opening three league games and recording a 0:9 record. It was in last place in the Premier League and was a relegation candidate.

However, Mikel Arteta’s charges picked themselves up. They lifted their spirits in the opening game of the EFL Cup, where they blasted West Brom 6-0. Then came a narrow win in the league and utter dominance in the North London Derby, where they beat Tottenham 3-1.

Two draws and a win over Aston Villa followed. Now came the eighth round of the EFL Cup, which Arsenal also won. They managed to beat Leeds 2-0.

The first half was scoreless. In the second, it was the 55th minute when Calum Chambers came on for Ben White. A corner kick was taken and the ball went to the onrushing Chambers, who only needed one touch to score.

Arsenal’s second goal was added by Eddie Nketiah, who was played the ball into the run of play by an opponent. The young Arsenal striker outmuscled the keeper and headed into an empty net. Interestingly, Nketiah was a guest at Leeds last season.

Now Arsenal have a stronger opponent on their schedule. It is Leicester City, whom Arteta’s charges will face on October 30.
