”That’s Arsenal for you,” says former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor, getting involved in the situation between Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Arsenal management. The former Canaries captain has lost his place and captain’s armband and is likely to leave the team.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the captain of Arsenal. However, he once skipped a pre-match training session without an excuse and flew off to get a tattoo. Upon his return, he was stripped of his captain’s armband, and hasn’t appeared on the bench since.
Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta refused to tolerate the star striker’s indiscipline and dropped him from the squad. Apparently, there was a meeting between the player and the coach where Aubameyang apologized, but still Arsenal wants to get rid of him.
According to the latest reports, he will not leave in a permanent transfer during January. However, Arsenal management would like to send him at least on loan.
”I know he’s going through a lot, but that’s Arsenal for you,” former Arsenal player Emmanuel Adebayor tells Sky Sports regarding Aubameyang
Adebayor reportedly sent Aubameyang a message wishing him good luck. He wants him to come back. A player like Aubameyang, Adebayor says, represents all of Africa.
In 2009, Emmanuel Adebayor moved from the Canaries to rival Manchester City, much to the displeasure of Arsenal management and fans. The former player claims he was never forgiven and Aubameyang is in a similar situation.
He may have made just one mistake, for which he has apologised, but Arsenal will reportedly not forgive him. However, he considers him a great player who would have a place at many of Europe’s top clubs. He wants the whole situation to turn out well for the former Arsenal captain.
Al Hilal from Saudi Arabia was said to be interested in the player and would be willing to cover the player’s entire salary of £350,000, but Aubameyang would like to stay in Europe. PSG and Juventus are said to have shown little interest.
