Arsenal have entered the new Premier League season very well. They beat Nottingham 2-1 at home in the first leg and won 1-0 at Crystal Palace in the second leg.
At the Emirates Stadium, they then only drew with Fulham 2-2, but then also beat Manchester United 3-1 at home. In the last fifth round played so far, the Gunners travelled to Everton and were successful there as well.
Leandro Trossard scored the only goal of the game. And if those very good results weren’t enough, Arsenal also won the Community Shield, beating Manchester City 2-1 after penalty kicks.
Arsenal also made a perfect start to the Champions League group stage, blasting PSV Eindhoven 4-0 on home turf on Wednesday.
But back to the Premier League. The well-known and trusted Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio interviewed Jorginho recently, whereupon the question of title ambitions naturally came up in the interview. And what did the thirty-one-year-old footballer answer?
We have to keep our feet on the ground
“We have to keep working on the path we are on. There is still a lot of room for improvement, but I think we are on the right path,” Jorginho said, adding that he must stay on the ground.
“We are only at the beginning of the season, there is a lot to do and it is never easy. But like I said, we are on the right track, we have to keep our feet on the ground and work hard. We’ll see where we get to, but we have a good chance,” the Arsenal midfielder continued.
“We have a good, or rather a very good, team and every player will definitely get his moment to perform and contribute to the team,” he concluded.
