Arsenal are being made fun of by their own fans! At the Etihad Stadium, they were applauded for a brutally honest chant

Mikel Arteta’s charges are having a terrible time, with the Gunners bottom of the English league for the first time since 25 October 1975. Arsenal, meanwhile, have been in last place, but never after 3 or more games played. The Gunners were steered to this dismal record by a crushing 5-0 loss to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. How are the fans and the public reacting?
After the Manchester City game, the statistics showed three more sad records, two club and one league record.
As for the first negative club record, Arsenal lost all 3 opening league games for the first time since the 1954/55 season, an incredible 67 years. The worst part is the fact that Arsenal can only deepen this misery, although games against Norwich and Burnley give the Gunners little hope of ending their misery.
The other record is the fact that Arsenal have only fired once against City in a game. That is the fewest shots produced per game in the club’s history. That record, by the way, will be hard to beat.
It should be noted that the Gunners are not the absolute league record holders, but! Arsenal became only the second team in the history of the Premier League to start the season with three defeats and with a negative score of -9 to boot. Wolves managed the same feat in the 2003/04 season. Wolverhampton were relegated then.
Fan and public reaction
On social media, Arsenal supporters who were right at the Etihad Stadium got a lot of attention. “We lose every week, you are nothing special!”
The Czech football cynic Neobjektive Novinář has also written about Arsenal’s performance and form. Take a look for yourself.
Many fans are saying that the positive thing about the whole situation is that it couldn’t get any worse. It may seem with the current draw (Norwich, Burnley) that better times are around the corner, but it could also be worse.
If the Gunners don’t make it through the Norwich game, then it would already be a really big horror and also a lot of pressure that some of the youngsters might not deal with in the best way and the crisis could escalate further.
