Armenia vs. Wales analysis, preview
Armenia is still in the running for qualification thanks to a confluence of results. However, Wales need to beat them at home as they are two points behind them and Croatia. The first Turks are already assured of promotion.
Wales are in a much more comfortable situation. They know that if they win twice they will qualify for the Euros. It has not missed out on the top tournament twice in a row, and even though it has started this qualification terribly, it has the participation in its hands.
Armenia’s key figures
Grant-Leon Ranos is the top scorer for the home side with four shots, but he is virtually non-existent for Mönchengladbach. Midfielder Artak Dashyan holds down the midfield, and is on a five-goal run on the club scene.
Key figures for Wales
On the away side, Fulham’s hard-working offensive all-rounder Harry Wilson is making his mark in the Premier League. Brennan Johnson is trusted as Gareth Bale’s successor, having scored his first goal since moving to Tottenham a week ago.
Armenia vs. Wales odds, tips
Armenia, paradoxically, doesn’t excel much at home, having won only one of their last six games. For example, they got a five from Ukraine in the Nations League here, and they only beat mediocre Latvia and only by a goal.
Wales, on the other hand, have been on a roll, beating the winter World Cup bronze medallists Croatia at the last meeting and the team was praised for the first time since the end of Bale’s tenure for its display. Three wins in a row also says something.
Taking into account the above reasons, especially given Wales’ improved form, I predict an away win. At the same time, the visitors play quite defensive football, they basically don’t have a top striker, so I expect two goals at most.
