The reward for a season of a lifetime. Barak’s engagement in Verona was a success. In his first season he accumulated a 7+3 record, last season he scored 11 goals and added 3 assists.
So it was to be expected that one of the better teams would reach for the 27-year-old. Verona was ranked 9th, but Barak’s performances were asking for the attention of teams in the top seven.
And that’s what happened. According to the renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Barak is heading to Fiorentina, who are in seventh place and beat Twente 2-1 in the first match of the Conference League playoffs, quite possibly playing in the cups.
According to Roman, Barak is joining Fiorentina on loan with an option that will become mandatory once certain undisclosed conditions are met. The Italian journalist also reports that Barak agreed on the terms of his contract a few days ago, so the official transfer is just a matter of time.
Before Verona, Barak spent one season at Lecce and before that two and a half seasons at Udinese. He has been playing regularly in Serie A since the summer of 2017.
