Will fans see another shootout or will it be a cautious contest? Slavia will face a rematch against Feyenoord at home, so what did forward Ivan Schranz have to say about the upcoming Conference game?

Can Slavia advance to the Conference League semi-finals and equal the 1995/96 UEFA Cup semi-final? That is the question we will know the answer to on Thursday 14 April, late in the evening.

Schranz was asked a similar question at the press conference. So what is the biggest motivation of the Slavic team?

“It is certainly a big motivation (to equal Slavia’s participation in the UEFA Cup), but it is not our biggest motivation. We want to go as far as possible, to beat Feeynoord, to play in the semi-finals. That is the biggest motivation,” Schranz explained at the press conference.

In the Netherlands, Slavia scored three times, but their offensive performance was solid. The match against Feyenoord will undoubtedly be very attractive to the spectator’s eye again, but Schranz added that he believes it will be a somewhat more cautious match.

“If it’s a happy ending, let it be a shootout. But I think it will be more cautious.”

“You can always improve. Both on defense and offense. We have great coaches, they always find something new, they always try to prepare us as best they can. We have 24 hours until the game, we will learn from the first game, we will not repeat the mistakes we made. I believe we will make it through and celebrate the promotion,” he adds.

It would be a great success for the Prague team. The last time Slavia played in the semi-finals was in 1995/96.

Back then, its path led all the way from the preliminary round, where it knocked out Sturm Graz from Austria. In the first and second rounds, the Prague team defeated Freiburg and Lugano, while in the third round Slavia eliminated RC Lens thanks to a very close 1:0 win in extra time.

In the quarter-finals, Slavia faced AS Rome, who also failed to stop the Slavic machine. Unfortunately, the French Girondins Bordeaux managed to do the same, to whom Slavia lost in both matches (0:1 and 0:1).

The winner of the UEFA Cup in 1996 was Bayern Munich, who blasted Bordeaux with five goals in the final (5:1).
