Another Serbian striker to Fiorentina? Jovic is on his way out of Real Madrid!
Dusan Vlahovic was responsible for most of Fiorentina’s goals for a year and a half, but left for Juventus in January. The club failed to fully replace him, but even without him the Violets managed to break into the Europa Conference. Now they have found a replacement for him in the famous Real Madrid!
Dusan Vlahovic was responsible for most of Fiorentina’s goals for a year and a half, but left for Juventus in January. The club failed to fully replace him, but even without him the Violets managed to break into the Europa Conference. Now they have found a replacement for him in the famous Real Madrid!
Dusan Vlahovic started playing for Fiorentina back in the 2018/19 season, but his rise didn’t come until two years later. In the 2019/20 and 20/21 seasons, he scored 38 goals in 58 games for the Violets in Serie A, adding 4 assists.
When he moved to Juventus for €81 million in January, the club immediately brought in two players to replace him, but neither of them fully came through.
The first one is Krzysztof Piatek, who came on loan from Hertha, but he couldn’t find his old form from Italy, scoring only 3 goals in 14 games, adding 3 more in the Coppa Italia. The other striker was Arthur Cabral, who spent the last few years at Basel. He came to Florence for 14 million euros, but only managed to score 2 goals in Serie A.
Now it looks like Fiorentina have found another replacement, and even from the same country. Luka Jovic came to Real Madrid for 60 million euros in 2019, but he couldn’t make his way into the starting lineup. In 3 years, he played only 36 games in LaLiga, mostly as a substitute.
Last January, Frankfurt engaged him on loan, now Fiorentina are trying to do the same. According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the deal is already done and the player will undergo a medical next week. Los Blancos are expected to pay half of his salary.
Jovic is already 24 years old and has a tough task ahead of him. However, he has looked very good in a couple of LaLiga games this season and could be the right choice. Anyway, reinforcements for European cups are needed and the Serbian striker is undoubtedly an interesting player.
