Another scary accident in Moto 3! Look at the collision that decided the title
In addition to the royal Moto GP category, there were also races in the lower classes in the Algarve – Moto2 and Moto3. And it was in the lowest category that the battle for the title was at its peak. However, it was decided in the penultimate race of the season, with the lion’s share of the spooky collision at the last round of the Algarve Grand Prix.

Across motorsport, the battle for the championship is at its peak, not only between drivers but also in terms of the team championship.
In Formula 1, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton are battling it out, while the WRC has no champion yet, with the title not being decided until the last round of the season! In any case, Sebastian Ogier and Elfyn Evans are battling it out.
The champion is already known in Moto GP. It was Fabio Quartararo in the last race. However, the title is not decided in the lower categories – Moto2 and Moto3. Or rather, it wasn’t, in the lowest class we already know the world champion!
That’s Pedro Acosta in the Algarve, defending the colours of the Red Bull KTM Ajo team. But the battle for the title was decided by this very scary accident.
It happened at Turn 3 on the last lap of the Algarve Grand Prix. Acosta’s rival for the title, Dennis Foggia, had moved into first place ahead of the KTM rider, only to have his title hopes dashed by Darryn Binder on this particular stretch of track.
The points gap between the two at that point was 16 points, but Acosta had other riders behind him and even dropped momentarily to third on the final lap. This would narrow his lead in the championship and make the final race of the season very interesting.
However, none of that happened and the Spanish driver ended up not only taking the win, but also the championship title! For Acosta, this is his sixth victory this season. Foggia remains on five wins after this accident.
