Viktor Peshta had his second fight Friday night in the American PFL, which he moved to from the Octagon, where he was the reigning champion.
The first fight ended in the first round and Pešta walked away defeated, his goal in the second was thus clear, he had to win and preferably in the first round to keep his hopes of winning the pyramid alive.
The winner of the pyramid will receive a million dollars, which is a big draw indeed. But 30-year-old Australian Rob Wilkinson was in over his head.
Peshta pulled the weak end, trying for takedowns, but failing. Wilkinson got him after three minutes and eventually finished him by TKO.
It was Peshta’s second first-round loss and his eighth in professional MMA. His start in the PFL was a blatant failure and now the question is what to do next.
There are several options, including a return to domestic waters, where there are two real organizations. But the RFA is more realistic, even with the money.
