Bellator is the second best MMA organization in the world. It is still trying to compete with the UFC, but the question is whether it is really possible.
Either way, Bellator puts on some great and attractive tournaments. Friday night was no different.
Fans were treated to a great main event at Bellator 272. Sergio Pettis and Kyoji Horiguchi competed for the bantamweight championship belt.
Pettis entered the fight as the reigning champion, Horiguchi as the challenger and former champion. The Japanese fighter had given up the belt in the past due to injury and a long treatment.
The main event of the night certainly lived up to its reputation. The ending in particular is really worth it. Pettis knocked out his opponent with a great shot from the turn.
According to the organization, this is a possible knockout of the year. We can’t say for sure, but it should definitely be one of the best knockouts. There could be many candidates this year. Jiri Prochazka should definitely not be missing among them.
