Brahim Díaz is undoubtedly one of AC Milan’s best and key players at the moment, as his performances in the Champions League prove. However, his loan spell from Real Madrid is coming to an end. The Rossoneri are keen to keep the Málaga native, even though there is no option for a permanent transfer listed as part of the loan deal. So what does his stay in Milan depend on?
Díaz is on loan at Milan from Real Madrid, having played his third season in the red and black jersey. Although he regularly dazzles with his performances for the Milan giant, his future at the San Siro is uncertain.
AC do not have the option to sign him permanently. The twenty-three year old Málaga native’s loan deal does not include an option or a permanent transfer.
Díaz’s performances in the jersey of the current Serie A champions continue to improve. For example, he was a key aspect in AC’s 4-0 win over Napoli, and in the Champions League match he set up the match-winning goal.
In the current season, Díaz has played 26 league games in the red and black jersey, scoring five goals and assisting three more. He also registered one goal in the Champions League, in the first leg of the semi-final against Tottenham.
It should be added, this goal was also a winner given the goalless draw. In total, he has made 114 competitive starts for AC so far and has a record of 17+11.
Transfer fee and Real’s plans
So, as reported by the Italian media, since the Rossoneri don’t have an option, they have to come to the negotiating table with Real and hope that they can reach an agreement.
According to Transfermarkt website, Díaz’s market value is currently €20 million. And according to recent reports, a potential transfer would not go below 25 million.
Apart from the actual amount Milan will negotiate with Real, Díaz’s stay at the San Siro depends on the plans of the Royal Club. This is because Carlo Ancelotti will have to deal with two expiring contracts for both offensive midfielders – Marco Asensio and Dani Ceballos.
