It was the third 60-point performance this season, but it was not enough to win. This time, its author Stephen Curry and the Warriors fell in overtime in Atlanta. The Lakers, with Anthony Davis and Lebron James, have already cut the Knicks’ winning streak.

Stephen Curry breaks the 60-point mark for the second time in his career

In the game Atlanta Hawks vs Golden State Warriors (141:134), which ended after overtime, the team from San Francisco fell on the Atlanta court, even though Stephen Curry had one of the best performances of his career. However, it was not enough for the upstart Atlanta.

Stephen Curry, including overtime, spent less than 42 minutes on the floor, scoring 60 points for the Hawks. He fell just two points short of his career high. And he’s one of the few basketball players to break the 60-point mark at least twice.

Curry otherwise excelled in the game. He added 8 points in overtime and made 10 threes, but needed 23 shot attempts to do it. He shot 22/38 from the field and converted 6 free throws.

This is the third time this season that a basketball player has surpassed that mark, but it didn’t mean a win. Karl-Anthony Towns and Devin Booker scored an even 62 points this year, but also came away defeated.

Curry added 6 rebounds and 4 assists to his performance, but he lacked major shooting support from his teammates. Atlanta was led to victory by the traditional Trae Young, who scored 35 points and had much more support from his teammates, unlike Curry.

Lakers win again

In the New York Knicks vs Los Angeles Lakers (105:113), the visitors confirmed their growing form. After beating Boston in the last game without their biggest mainstays James and Davis, in today’s game they already had both stars at their disposal and it showed. The Lakers ended New York’s winning streak.

A fired up Lebron James practically never came off the floor after a one-game layoff, scoring 24 points in 40 minutes of play. The team’s other star, Anthony Davis, scored 12 points, but reigned under the basket with 18 rebounds and also recorded four blocks.

The Knicks were led by Jalen Brunson, as is tradition this season, with 36 points and 10 assists. The game was virtually even throughout the three quarters. The Lakers decided the valuable victory in the last passage of the game, which they dominated by 33-19.

The Los Angeles players proved once again that they can beat anyone. Their opponents, on the other hand, ended their 9-game winning streak after beating the NBA leader in the previous game. The Lakers have an active record of 26-25 and confirmed that their form is growing, having won the last two duels against very strong teams.
