Andrea Stramaccioni is back in the coaching seat! After a short stint at Esteghlal, he has been hired by Al Gharafa, the leading team in the Qatari top flight.
Andrea Stramaccioni has another challenge ahead of him! After an early end at Sparta Prague and Esteghlal in Iran, he has been engaged by a team from Qatar.
That club is the fourth team of last season, Al Gharafa. There are only six players who are not Qatari.
However, none of them are from Europe. How has the Italian coach fared so far in his coaching career?
He had success in the youth of AS Roma and Inter Milan, so when Claudio Ranieri had to leave Inter’s A-team, he took over his position.
After 14 months, however, he was sacked. And that’s when his career started to decline significantly. He coached Udinese for a season, Panathinaikos of Greece for a year.
After that, he came to Sparta, where he didn’t even last until the end of the season, quitting in March 2018.
From the summer of 2019, he was the coach of Iran’s Esteghlal, but was fired in December of the same year. However, his team was in first place at the time.
